Dawsonrentals | Bus & Coach
Dawsonrentals | bus & coach was delighted to be invited by Network Rail Chairman and former Commissioner for Transport for London, Sir Peter Hendy, to participate in the 7th annual Imberbus event in August, when normally out-of-bounds MOD land on Salisbury Plain is given a full London Bus route for one day in aid of the Royal British Legion and local charities.
Over 20 old and new London Routemaster buses, supplied in the main by the UK’s large bus companies, operated registered Service 23a to the ‘lost' village of Imber. Each bus was driven or conducted by senior managers from UK bus operating companies. Our Routemaster bus was crewed by our Managing Director, Paul Sainthouse, and Reading Buses Chief Executive, Martijn Gilbert, who alternated driving and conducting duties, whilst visitors to the event included LHE’s Robert Taylor and Dawsonrentals' own Stuart Mulberry and Chris Mobbs – who also acted as an unofficial photographer – as well as senior Transport for London management and even a couple of Traffic Commissioners.
Paul Sainthouse said “It was a pleasure to participate in the Imberbus event and to know that we were all giving our time for a good cause. We will certainly be back again in 2017”.
