New Brighouse Site for Yorkshire Fleet Hire Company Following Major Growth

Dawsongroup emc – the UK’s leading contract hire supplier of industrial, municipal and specialist vehicles – has broken ground on a new purpose-built site in Yorkshire, following a 42% increase in turnover in the past two years.

The Brighouse-based firm, which has been operating from Armytage Road since 2005 when it acquired Northern Municipal Spares Ltd, will build a state-of-the-art facility on the existing site and a neighbouring piece of land, bringing all its operations under one roof.

The 26,000 sq ft site, which will comprise office space, a service and maintenance workshop, and vehicle storage, is set to open in Autumn 2024. The current team has relocated to temporary premises just half a mile away until the construction phase is complete.

Demonstrating Dawsongroup emc’s further investment in Yorkshire, the new facility will cater for the firm’s growing team, which has increased by 30% in the past two years. Following significant diversification of its fleet and major investment in alternative fuels, Dawsongroup emc now works with some of the largest local authorities in the UK, including Leeds City Council, Wakefield Council, Bradford Council, and Calderdale Council.

The Yorkshire employer works with leading contractors including Amey, Balfour Beatty, Kier, and Colas. They are also the UK’s national contract hire partner for JCB’s revolutionary Pothole Pro machine, which is transforming pothole repairs up and down the country.

Over the past five years, Dawsongroup emc has doubled the size of the business, and plans to do the same again by 2028. Paul Beddows, Sales Director at Dawsongroup emc, said, “Despite the challenges currently facing the fleet industry, we have enjoyed significant growth over the past few years. This is down to our ability to buy the right equipment at the right time in the right quantities.”
