RHA Protests on The New Requirements for Operating Longer Semitrailers (LSTs)
Wendy Henderson, Contract Hire Manager for Dawsongroup truck and trailer, shares her thoughts about the RHA protests on the new requirements for operating longer semitrailers (LSTs).
It was interesting to read the brief report in the latest edition of Transport News of RHA protests on the new requirements for operating longer semitrailers (LSTs). As so often, the RHA has its finger on the pulse.
From having welcomed LSTs’ approval for use at the end of May, it now raises its voice on the extraordinary new demands being placed on use of these trailers.
It appears operators are already looking at parking up LSTs as the processes for their use mount up, such things as individual risk assessments for every route with drivers required to hold copies of both route plans and assessments.
We can only hope the Government sees sense and allows the safe operation of LSTs to be cared for by those very same operators who already monitor their own safety measures so effectively.
In the meantime, at Dawsongroup truck and trailer we have thousands of trailers from skeletals, flatbeds, step frames, boxes, curtain siders up to multi-temps.
