Blast Your Way to a More Agile Business

When it comes to food production, Dawsongroup tcs understands the importance of maintaining products to their highest quality. Our experts can provide your business with a solution you may not have considered.

Save Time and Energy with Blast Freezers

Blast freezing is often seen as the more expensive option when it comes to preserving food. However, the benefits significantly outweigh the costs – which can actually be less than that of a standard chamber freezer.

Dawsongroup tcs infographic of blast freezer operation

Efficient blast freezers from Dawsongroup tcs have high powered, high velocity air that flows over, around and through the product at a temperature at least 10°C lower than is required. The air circulates around the unit efficiently, minimising energy usage and ensuring the product is continuously and consistently cooled. Depending on the product, temperatures can be reduced to the required level – usually around -30°C – in as little as a few hours.

The speed of blast freezing means that although initial energy consumption may be higher, it is for a much shorter period of time. Products are then ready to go quicker, which enables rapid logistics and turnaround times, in turn enabling higher production levels and turnover.

Chamber freezers can take days, or even weeks in some cases, to reduce temperatures to the desired level as they use the already chilled temperature of the cold store and little or no airflow to slowly reduce temperatures. Energy costs mount up over time, especially as the unknown factor of when the product will be ready means a lack of control over product release and turnaround times.
