Having started working in the materials handling industry in 2010, Ashley Wickham joined the Dawsongroup family in April 2024.
Finding His Feet in Sales
Ashley started his career in the materials handling industry as an apprentice, trying out a variety of different roles until he landed in sales eight years ago. Since then, he’s found his feet in the industry, helping hundreds of clients to level up their business.
“While Dawsongroup is a big company, the material handling team feels like a small family company with a big company backing,” said Ashley. “The team at Wednesbury are great, we all work together to keep customers happy. All their support has helped me quickly settle in.”
A Supportive Environment for Ashley Wickham
Starting a new job is always challenging, but Ashley has found the first few months at Dawsongroup to be a positive experience. Initial training included an introduction to the Dawsongroup material handling stock list and sales process. Adam Reaney, Head of Sales, also freed up time in his diary to introduce Ashley to existing customers in his area. This additional support helped Ashley to establish himself within the company and hit the ground running.
“It’s been very intense but really good, I’ve loved it,” said Ashley. “This formal introduction process has been a fantastic experience, I’ve got a really solid foundation to build on.”

A Bright Future

Outside of work, Ashley is a massive Norwich City fan. While he lives 180 miles away now, he was originally from East Anglia, and has never lost his sense of local pride. He is also a mechanic at heart, and enjoys tinkering with his motorbike, ensuring that it rides perfectly when he takes it out.
