Smarter Storage Solutions for Domino’s
Since 1991, when the first Irish store opened in Dublin, Domino’s Pizza Group has expanded to 92 stores across the country. As a major pizza brand in the Republic of Ireland, Domino’s is a household name and prides itself on delivering hot, great-tasting, freshly handcrafted pizzas to customers.

Increasing Domino’s Capacity 300%
When the Domino’s Production Facility first opened in November 2000, everything they needed was in one building, from production and distribution to ambient and frozen storage. Fast forward a few years, and they had expanded enough that they needed extra space.
Dawsongroup tcs, saw an opportunity to provide a storage solution that would increase their space dramatically. By hiring modular chilled and freezer units from tcs, which could be installed externally, Domino’s was able to move their chilled and frozen storage out of the main building. This enabled them to increase their internal space and expand their production facilities at the same time as increasing their storage space.
“We were the first company to have a three-bay widespan freezer unit, back in 2010,” said Joe Hartford, General Manager at Domino’s Production Facility. “Dawsongroup also added a roof over it to ensure there wouldn’t be any chance of water damage, as we get so much rain. We’ve since added another three units which we use all the time. In fact, we now run at 300% above the capacity the site originally had, which wouldn’t have been possible without the units from Dawsongroup. We couldn’t run the business without them.”
Reliable, Flexible Solutions
When the UK left the EU in January 2020, Domino’s wanted to make sure that their customers weren’t affected. They did this by building up their stock to make sure customers wouldn’t have any problems getting produce in the event of delays due to changing legislation. Once again, Dawsongroup tcs stepped in to provide a solution.
To store the four months’ worth of stock that Domino’s built up, they needed five additional frozen and chilled units. Dawsongroup’s Smarter Asset Strategy gave Domino’s the flexibility to hire the units for the two years they needed them, instead of having to invest capital in assets which would only be needed for a short – and at the start, unknown – length of time.
“Our working relationship with Dawsongroup has been fantastic over the years,” said Joe. “Not only have they provided our chill and freezer units, but they also allowed us to park vehicles and store our products in their yard when we ran out of space. We know we can always rely on them and we’re looking forward to continuing our relationship in the future.”
