Supporting a Great Cause with HSL Chairs

The relationship between Dawsongroup material handling and HSL Chairs began in 2019 when our first two trucks were delivered to their Batley depot. They now have eight Dawsongroup trucks on hire and we have developed a strong working partnership with them.

HSL’s charity of choice is the British Heart Foundation (BHF), and they donate a selection of the sofas and chairs they manufacture, which are either donated stock or returned orders, for the BHF to sell in their retail outlets. These types of products take up a lot of space, and HSL needed some extra storage space just for these items. They had an idea for a temporary storage area and asked Dawsongroup material handling for help constructing it. We jumped at the chance and sent two of our workshop engineers for two days to help build the structure, which is now firmly in place and nearly full already!

HSL’s Head of Logistics and Stock, Ben Waters, said, “Thank you to the team at Dawsongroup for supporting HSL and the British Heart Foundation in improving the storage areas for our donated stock. This now allows better segregation of stock to maximise the resale values. The team doing the build did a great job, as I know it was not the simplest and needed custom parts to ensure its stability. This is a testament to Dawsongroup and the strength of our partnership.

“The work here will continue to support a strong donations programme with the BHF, which has already raised nearly £2m for the charity.”
