Working Smarter with Dennis Baah

With an extensive background in the materials handling industry, as well as experience in IT and robotics, Dennis Baah, Area Sales Executive for Ipswich and East Anglia, is a valuable addition to the Dawsongroup material handling team.

The Customer Connection

Dennis Baah, Area Sales Executive for Dawsongroup material handlingAn average day for Dennis consists of visiting existing and potential customers in his area, which could be anywhere from Luton to Norwich. Travelling to different parts of the country means he also has the opportunity to work out of different Dawsongroup depots and meet more of the team, reducing the loneliness that can be felt by salespeople when they are out on the road by themselves all day.

“When you’re able to help someone it’s a good feeling,” said Dennis. “I’m a people person, so meeting customers every day is ideal for me, and being able to help them solve issues in their business makes the experience even better.”

Dennis also works closely with Scott Jones, Field Service Engineer for Dawsongroup material handling. When Dennis first joined the company, Scott took the time to join him in visiting all their existing customers to introduce Dennis whilst delivering the annual Dawsongroup personalised calendars. This gave Dennis a solid foundation with the customers and ensured they knew they could trust him with all their materials handling needs going forwards.

“I bring value to my customers by being their trusted advisor,” said Dennis. “By providing the best solution with the right products through Dawsongroup’s Smarter Asset Strategy, I build trust with my customers, and they know they can turn to me for advice and support.”

Working Smarter

Dennis Baah, area sales executive for Dawsongroup material handlingOne of the core values of the business is the Dawsongroup Smarter Asset Strategy, which Dennis shares with his customers to ensure they always have the best solution for their requirements.

“When you own a truck, it depreciates over time and you have to face unexpected maintenance bills, especially in high usage applications,” said Dennis. “Hiring a forklift gives you peace of mind because you know the servicing and maintenance is provided by us and you can manage costs. It also gives the customer flexibility to change the forklift in an everchanging business environment without the risk of being tied into a depreciating asset. It’s all about working with us to work smarter.”

Sustainability is another aspect Dennis advises customers on. Every customer he meets has unique requirements and it is not always the right time to transition to an electric fleet.

“Being honest with customers is important,” said Dennis. “It depends on the number of hours worked as to whether it’s worth switching to electric, and I won’t advise them to change if it wouldn’t benefit them. It’s all a part of being a trusted advisor; we’re not just there to take money off them. When the customer does go fully electric, they will remember us as the company that puts their needs first.”

Part of the Dawsongroup Family

Family is very important to Dennis Baah, and his main ambition for the future is to give his so n and twin daughters the best life possible. Through Dawsongroup, he has the potential to progress his career in a way that works for him and his family, and he is looking forward to what the future may hold.

“Dawsongroup is very different to other companies I’ve worked for,” said Dennis. “It’s much more like a family. Everyone is united and we bounce off each other when we’re in the office together. Although we all have individual targets, we are part of a team and support each other to achieve those targets. It’s nice to work for a company where everyone cares about everyone, and this is part of what makes Dawsongroup unique.”
