Dawsongroup plc, the leading asset management business, announces today that it has received planning permission to build a new corporate headquarters on the site of its existing head office in Tongwell, Milton Keynes. In an intricate plan unveiled for the first time today, the workshop element of the existing building will be partially demolished while the new building is constructed and then the remainder of the old building, the office space, will be demolished, leaving a pristine new headquarters to house the head office function for the future.
The new three-storey building has been designed with high-level energy efficiency and will contain, where possible, sustainably sourced materials. This quality build will provide 37,000 sq. ft. GIA (gross internal area) fitted to a high standard, giving staff a new, modern working environment that incorporates a communal space, electric vehicle recharging points, a coffee shop, a gym, shower facilities and changing areas. The entrance will feature a striking double height atrium and the building will also have an outdoor terrace for private functions. The whole complex will be finished to a superb standard, with extensive landscaping to complete what is intended to be a showcase development.
Commenting on the news, Freya Dawson, Director of Property and project lead for this development, said “It’s an exciting time for everyone at Dawsongroup. The business has outgrown our existing building in Tongwell, and we have taken our time to reach what we believe is the best solution for our fast-growing group. We had originally earmarked part of the land at Brogborough that we own to build the new HQ, we even gained planning permission for the proposed development. However, the effects of Covid no longer made this plan viable so we decided to sell the parcel of land at Brogborough and remain in Tongwell but in a new, bespoke facility.
“The design of the new building is focused on employee well-being and on hitting targets to support our journey in achieving net-zero. There is an elegance to our staff remaining in Tongwell while providing everyone with a significantly improved working environment. That said, it’s a challenging project to demolish and build, all on the same parcel of land!”
The new HQ for Dawsongroup plc is scheduled to be ready for occupation in H1/2026.
